Jakub Kubalski

Attorney at Law, Partner at Interactive Entertainment, IP/TMT at SSW Pragmatic Solutions. Jakub specialises in intellectual property law, being up to date with the legal aspects of the digital world, video games and electronic media. He participated in counselling on and negotiations of many projects for entities from the video games industry, including those related to games of chance.  He represented the interests of his Clients before common courts, public administration authorities (e.g. President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, President of the Office of Electronic Communications, President of the Personal Data Protection Office), self-government associations (e.g. Advertising Ethics Committee). Jakub represented his Clients in applications for protection at the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and EUIPO, industrial property rights, both trademarks and industrial designs, and counselled them in objection proceedings, and proceedings regarding infringement or cancellation of rights.  He has experience in creating and negotiating agreements characteristic for the marketing, TV, film and eCommerce industries. He conducted various projects related to agreements concluded with consumers, as well as acts of unfair competition or unfair trade practices.  Before joining SSW, he gained his experience at Domański Zakrzewski Palinka sp.k. (limited partnership). Member of the Warsaw Bar Association.  Member of the Video Game Bar Association. He gives lectures on video games and eSport law at the School of New Technologies Law organised by the Hugo Grotius Centre of Intellectual Property Rights. He completed American law studies organised by the Levin College of Law (University of Florida). He participated in Advanced Summer School on Trademarks in Washington, D.C., organised jointly by WIPO and USPTO.
